Al Shammal managed to progress into the second stage of the HH Emir Cup after beating fellow second division side Al Markhiya 15-3 in the match held at the Thani bin Jassim stadium on Sunday.

Faraidon granted Al Shammal a comfortable lead after scoring twice on 33 and 38 minutes, he was matched by Rodriguez(47 and59 minutes), while Renan Oliviera added a fifth in the 62^nd  minute.

For Al Markhiya, former Saudi Arabia international scored twice (43 and 64) and Qadr Mousa (85).

Al Sailiya and Muaither are the two top clubs from the second division to get a direct entry into the Emir Cup draw. The 12 Qatar Stars League (QSL) clubs also get a direct entry into the Emir Cup.
