MADRID, SPAIN: Albania on Tuesday edged Qatar 2-1 in a friendly at the  home club of La Liga side Rayo Vallecano de Madrid.

Arian Beqaj (46) and Erjon Bogdani (46, penalty) scored for the winners.

For Qatar, the only goal was scored by Yousef Ahmed (53).

Qatarwill take on Palestine in another friendly in May 28.

The Qatar squad is gearing up for three 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.

Coached by Paulo Autouri, Qatar will return to Doha on Wednesday and train at Aspire Academy prior to their next friendly.

The match was witnessed by Qatar Football Association (QFA) President
Shiekh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani. Qatar squad spent nine
days in Madrid.

Qatarare in Group A alongside Korea Republic, Iran, Uzbekistan and
Lebanonin the Final Round of Asian Zone Qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA
World Cup.

Also known as 'Al Annabi', Qatar have never qualified for FIFA World Cup finals.

Qatarwill host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
