Following the 1-3 defeat to Qatar in the friendly held at the Thani bin Jassim Stadium on Thursday; Egypt coach Bob Bradley praised Qatar for a scintillating display which differed greatly from the last time the two teams clashed two months ago.
"I think the Qatar coach (Fahad Thani) gave the players a fair run.
Coordination among the (Qatari) players was good. Egypt team struggled
fitness-wise because of lack of football in recent times. And there
are many players who are not professional in the real sense."
Egypt manager Bob Bradley named 18 players for Thursday's friendly,
including eight newcomers.
The game, which is not included in FIFA’s international match
calendar, was played without Egypt’s foreign-based players.
Egypt flew out of Doha on a chartered flight after the game.
He added: "In the second half, the Qatari team controlled the
match. They got more confident as the match progressed. You should
give more chance to Fahad who showed he can make a difference (as a
coach)."
