The Emir Cup is a tournament played every season by 16 first and second division teams. The Cup is played on a knock-out format and involves all 16 professional clubs in Qatar. The most successful is Al Sadd who won the tournament 13 times. Emir of Qatar Cup was played for the first time in 1972, and was won by Al Ahli.
