DOHA: Ismail Mohammed netted a brace (second and eighth) and Vladimir Weiss added another in the 76th as Lekhwiya defeated Qatar Sports Club 3-1 in a 14th-round tie of the Qatar Stars League at the Qatar SC Stadium on Saturday.

Hamdi Harboui pulled one back for the losers in the 85th.

The three points helped Michael Laudrup’s men increase their tally to 33 points and level with Al Sadd, who will take on Al Shahaniya on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Al Khor defeated Al Arabi 1-0, with Brazilian striker William Souza netting the all-important goal in the13th minute.

Elsewhere, Al Gharafa suffered a 2-4 defeat at the hands of Umm Salal while El Jaish too endured a shock 2-1 loss against Al Wakrah.
